Dustin Rusk
Dustin Rusk was born and raised in Edmonton, AB, and is a member of the Fort Nelson First Nation, a member nation of Treaty 8 located in the northeast of BC. Dustin was raised to respect and honor the culture and traditions of his family, including that of his First Nation and other western Canadian roots. He has a solid background of skills and experience gained through his career in working closely with communities, partners, and colleagues to serve Indigenous safety and security interests. He has gained wisdom, knowledge and firsthand experience to promote discussions which can help move things forward in challenging environments, working to engage stakeholders to work together to achieve harmony and a difference.
Along with this, he has worked in capacity for uniform response in several posts in western Canada, and has managed the youth, employee assistance portfolios as well supported recruiting and drug awareness. On a national scale, he has worked in Crime Prevention, Employment Equity, National Security as well as Serious and Organized Crime prevention. Dustin has been the Officer in Charge of the RCMP Indigenous Relations Services since the fall of 2018, working with a team that supports the national Strategic priority of supporting the health and safety of Indigenous communities.
